Product Description
Myth Arts proudly presents: The collection of "MYTH" is; the creativity of
the designers, the patience of the painters and the honor of Turkish
ceramic art by blending all the richness cultures that lived on Anatolia.
You will find the tracks of Ottomans by the motives of tulips which are
painted by the characteristic Byzantine colors and bordered with the
geometrical classical Seljuk borders on the same peace. Every piece is
unique, and waiting for you to tell it's own story…
Origin
Iznik (NICEA)- The workshop of Ottoman Palaces
The most important active center at the late 15th and early 16th century was Iznik. Designs prepared by artists who were employed in the studios of the Ottoman court were sent to Iznik to be executed in wares ordered for use at the palaces. The court's patronage stimulated and supported the development of an artistically and technically advanced ceramic industry in Iznik. The techniques involved in their manufacture are quite advanced as compared with anything previously done. The pastes are quite hard, pure white, and of fine quality. Although the traditional designs of stylized prior to 17th century are plant motifs, arabesques, and clouds appear in the compositions, there is a shift towards a more naturalistic style in which tulips, carnations, hyacinths, roses, spring blossoms, lilies, cypress trees, and clusters of grapes and vine leaves appear. Compositions are relaxed and free, offering greater scope for experimentation with new and richer arrangements.
